 DDOS attack

The PC servers for Battlefield 4 were down over the weekend.

Many gamers were no doubt frustrated this weekend as Battlefield 4′s servers were knocked offline by a hack attack.
DICE acknowledged that it was facing server issues by posting a message on the Battlelog main page that said: “We are currently experiencing attacks on our infrastructure that is impacting online gameplay on BF4 PC. We are working on mitigating actions.”
DICE’s Ali Hassoon said that these were targeted DDOS attacks in a post on the Battlefield forums. He said, “We are being targeted by a DDOS, but working on fixing it ASAP. I’m sorry somebody is ruining your and my day. Rest assured we are doing our best to mitigate the situation though.”
The issue has since been fixed, but all through the weekend users were unable to connect to the servers, and the few that did saw their character progression reset as their customizations were back to level 1. However, this bug looks like it was an issue with the servers, as other users found that logging into Battlelog restored their unlocks.
