Apple had already announced earlier this year that new APIs in iOS 7 add support for certified game controllers. It was only a matter of time before the controllers hit the market. Both Logitech and MOGA were said to be developing their own iOS 7 compatible gaming controllers, and the latter has come out with its Ace Power.
The controller is compatible with the iPhone 5, iPhone 5C and the iPhone 5S as well as the fifth generation iPod touch. While older devices are compatible with iOS 7, they won’t be compatible with the controller due to the fact that it uses the Lightning port to connect to the device. MOGA Ace Power has dual analog sticks, action buttons, a headphone jack, a d-pad, left and right shoulder buttons as well as the MOGA Boost battery pack which charges the device to extend gameplay.
Though given the fact that a lot of developers don’t support the controller yet, their games will still show the virtual controls even when the controller is plugged in. The MOGA Ace Power iOS 7 gaming controller goes on sale today. It can be purchased from the company’s website for $99.
